You have probably noticed that people are very often talking about their job or profession. That is very common as people want to exchange experiences, especially when they work in the same industry. They are curious how does other people"s job look like. That is understandable. Additionally, sometimes, we are able to get valuable advices by speaking with others about this. Whenever I am asked what is my profession and I say that I am a copywriter, people are a bit confused. They are not really aware what are my responsibilities and if we can even call copywriting a job. As far as the second is concerned - yes, we can. It brings me money thus it is my job. When people don"t understand what this is about I explain them that I write advertising texts for different products or services. I usually give them an example of a company who wanted to sell gold more efficiently. That is why they have asked me to write an offer text that they will send by newsletter, later on. I think I have written quite good text and maybe thanks to it they were able to sell gold better than ever. That is basically my job. After such explanation, people usually don"t ask more questions as this is clear for them. Maybe someday, copywriting would be so popular that it won"t need explanation whatsoever.
